1000 Islands Charity Poker Run & Fireworks Inc: (7/20/2019) & Use of Docks: Motion was made by Donna Patchen, seconded by Kenneth Knapp, to accept the 1000 Islands Charity Poker Run Firework’s application and not charge them the $200 fee associated with that permit. For the second half of the run, it was a sweet hike up to Ogdensburg and then back down into Clayton to get ready for the banquet and live auction. Off the water, the 1,000 Islands Charity Poker Run's primary focus is about fulfilling the dreams of the Make-A-Wish children plagued with chronic illnesses, and also to provide aid to local. By all accounts, last Saturday’s third annual 1,000 Charity Poker Run in Clayton, N.Y. Experienced an uncommonly miserable mix of heat and humidity. At the first-time lunch stop in Alexandria Bay, the 767 participants from 119 boats went through more than 2,000 bottles of water handed out by members of the local Rotary Club. Right: In Clayton, NY, for the third annual 1000 Islands Charity Poker Run. The 2019 edition nearly doubled the $45,000 raised by the group last year. S P E E D B O A T September 2019.

History of Responder Rescue
Each day, thousands of police officers, firefighters, and EMS workers strive to keep each and every one of us safe. While we often see these men and women as daily heroes, they still face injury, illness and traumatic events; on and off duty. Unfortunately, there is only so much their insurance companies and the departments they work for can do to help. Responder Rescue, a 501(c)(3) organization, was established in 2009 by a St. Louis metro area fire Captain who saw this unmet need. As a result, Responder Rescue's goal is to help provide the additional financial and emotional assistance to these men and women.
Who We Help
Responder Rescue will provide assistance to our responders through fundraisers, donations, and grants given by our citizens, communities and local corporations. In the short time Responder Rescue has been fully operational, we have assisted over 100 first responders and their families. We have provided assistance through house, car, utility and insurance payments, school tuition, medical supplies and other needs acquired due to injury, illness or event. Additionally, Responder Rescue has also teamed up with other local charities by providing them with volunteers as well as an avenue to raise money for area responders within their own communities. Responder Rescue is committed to helping those who help us on a daily basis.
How Your Contribution Helps
The St. Louis community is among the most generous when it comes to charitable giving. Responder Rescue provides citizens and corporations an organization they can contribute to when asking themselves; 'How can I help those individuals in need who have helped so many?'
